The Stage's tribute edition featured a story on how Maybe Winehouse was found. Our Amy performer Rachel Rabin said: “I’ve been singing in various local productions, and when Amy came along, all my friends joked that I looked like her, so I posted some pretend photos on Facebook. Singing with a live tribute band is a terrific buzz. I’ve already got people leaving me messages hoping I return to health – I think they are confusing me with the real thing!”
Maybe Winehouse is confirmed for the Friday night at Glastonbudget tribute festival.

Amateur Transplants are Adam Kay and Suman Biswas - two junior doctors who sing smutty songs. They met at medical school in 1998, where their twisted routines got them well-known amongst doctors around the country. They sprung to wider fame a couple of years back when The London Underground song (a filthy tirade about the state of the tube) was downloaded 6 million times.
They continue to be a cult internet hit, with their new song - The Anaesthetists Hymn - downloaded 1 million times in the last few months. Their criminally irresponsible CD and DVD continue to raise tens of thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
They have had sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe for the last three years, but their day-jobs and busy schedule of disciplinary hearings have limited their number of performances the rest of the year. Following tiresome demand for gigs, they are delighted to announce 'Amateur Transplants and Enemies' - a monthly residency at the Bedford in Balham.

So to meet the demand a new breed of ultra-modern tribute bands are springing up - and doing the gigs themselves. "Bands don't have the time to tour the provinces, so you don't get a chance to see the real thing gigging live," says Patrick Haveron from Psycho Management, which handles more than 200 tribute bands.
"That generates the whole tribute industry, people want to see the Antarctic Monkeys instead of the Arctic Monkeys."

Fans lap up tribute bands and singers who do not take themselves too seriously. We had a George Michael who played in a toilet. VH1 hired him as the cloakroom attendant who was dressed in a police outfit for one of their functions. People loved it"

With Morrissey pulling out of the legendary Fuji Rock Festival in Japan last week, what could the organisers do but book the best Smiths tribute to replace him? These Charming Men, now based in Ireland and America, were flown to Mount Fuji to headline the main stage in front of 35,000 people.
Morrissey apparently pulled out of the festival due to a 'miscommunication with his management', and reaction to These Charming Men, according to the NME was 'confusion anger or amusement'. The tribute Irish Moz said " It was a fantastic festival, the crowd were amazing and right behind us."
Festival goers were also able to see other Psycho acts including the Circus of Horrors' Wheel of Death (featuring Willie Ramsay & Jeff Jay) and the dexterous juggling of Ethiopian Circus stars Bibi & Bitchu.
